FROM CONVERSATION TO WEBSITE

Publish a website you made with ChatGPT.

Bring your website files to Benchlight, review a private preview, and publish with hosting and your own domain when you’re ready.

This website-file workflow does not require a Benchlight connector in ChatGPT.

Bring the website, including its files.

Export your built website files from ChatGPT, or bring a GitHub project you made with Codex. A screenshot, a chat transcript or one React component is not a complete built website.

For a static site, the ZIP should contain index.html and the CSS, JavaScript, images and other pages it uses. For a supported npm/Vite project, connect GitHub instead so Benchlight can build its browser files when source builds are available.

Keep passwords, access tokens and private environment files out of the website package. Connect a private GitHub repository through your workspace rather than putting credentials in a link.

Check the preview before changing your domain.

  1. Open your Benchlight workspace.

Choose your website and upload the built ZIP or connect your supported source.

  2. Review every page.

Check phone and desktop layouts, image paths, navigation and contact links. Confirm that any forms, logins or payments have their working services.

  3. Choose hosting and approve publishing.

Review the plan and terms in your workspace, then publish the selected version and follow your domain connection steps. For an eligible browser website you bring, hosting has a 60-day free trial, with a payment card required to start, then costs $9 a month or $99 a year. There is no $249 rebuild fee for files you bring; domain registration is separate. Keep the old deployment until you have checked the live website.

Use your own web address.

Buying a domain, connecting website DNS and getting HTTPS ready are separate steps. Your workspace shows the connection instructions. Preserve email MX and TXT records when changing website records.

See hosting and imports for the current options and website handover for the checks to make before a move.

Check what runs behind the pages.

Benchlight supports built browser websites and supported source builds. Apps with server code, databases, accounts, payments, WordPress or store services need separate transfer checks. Uploading the visible pages does not migrate those services.

For current ChatGPT and Claude connection options, see the Benchlight assistant guide.
